Tarang Stays is a family homestay above Old Manali. Not a hotel floor carved into rooms, not a lobby full of strangers — one entire private floor, handed over to one family or group at a time.
Built for people who stay a while
Most places in Manali sell you a room. We kept thinking about what we actually wanted on our own trips to the hills — a kitchen to cook in, a door that shuts on just your people, and somewhere to sit outside when the light goes gold over the deodars.
So that is what Tarang Stays is. Four cozy rooms, two fully-equipped kitchens and two and a half baths across a single floor. When you book, the floor is yours. No corridors shared with strangers, no queue for the bathroom, no front desk.
We are four kilometres from Mall Road and two and a half from the old Manali bridge — close enough to walk into the noise when you want it, far enough up the hill that what you hear in the morning is birdsong from the sanctuary next door, not traffic.
Guests tend to arrive planning to be out all day, and end up on the deck with chai instead. We take that as the highest compliment.
